Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashī

‘Wotakoi: How hard love is for an otaku’, a charming office story with two adults as the main characters. Hirotaka and Narumi are two hardcore geeks who secretly enjoy their hobbies while trying to maintain an appearance of a “normal” and “professional” person.

Golden Time

Golden Time is one of the most romantic and beautiful series on this list. It tells the story of Banri Tada, a law student who suffered an accident, which has erased all memories of his past. At law school he meets Mitsuo, whom he befriends, and Kouko, a beautiful and wealthy young woman who has been in love with Mitsuo since they were little.

You will discover a new world of romance and comedy with Golden Time; a world full of love triangles, lost memories and childhood loves. Because as they say, “love doesn’t know what time it is”.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

It started as an unrequited love that was triggered by a simple action. Sakura, who was late for the welcome ceremony at the high school, found Nozaki sleeping on top of the school gate, and he helped her to jump over it to enter the school. This action was what started Sakura’s obsession with Nozaki. She tried to confess her feelings for him, but he interpreted it as her wanting his autograph, because he is a manga artist. Nozaki looks silly, but I think he was simply avoiding the situation.

Even when he told her that he saw her only as a friend, Sakura didn’t expect to end up in his room so quickly…to help him paint the backgrounds for his manga. They have their little moments during the series, but most obviously they spend every day together and miss each other when the other isn’t around.

Ao Haru Ride

This couple shares moments so sweet they’ll give you diabetes. When they were high school students, they liked each other, but they were not boyfriend and girlfriend. He fell in love with her because she was very feminine and he liked her smile, she fell in love with him because of his personality type and his scent. Due to a family tragedy that she doesn’t know about, he moves away. Years later they meet again in high school. She clings to the idea that he is the same boy she once fell in love with, but the person he used to be is gone. This becomes a story of two stubborn teenagers falling in love again with their new ways of being.

Kimi ni Todoke

Sawako is a misunderstood girl and Kazehaya is the only one who can see past her creepy actions. She admires Kazehaya for being surrounded by friends and being so bright, she didn’t realize that her admiration was actually love. With Kazehaya’s help, Sawako makes a handful of close friends, but something has changed, she can no longer see Kazehaya as a friend, she doesn’t want to be “just” his friend. Kazehaya feels the same but doesn’t show anything concrete until he rejects Kurumi, the girl who was the most likely to be his partner. He is the kind of person who prefers a beautiful soul to a beautiful face.

Insecurities always overshadow Sawako’s best, but Kazehaya always does something to remind her that he chose her for simply being the way she is. Wouldn’t you like someone like that by your side on Valentine’s Day?

Special Mention: Horimiya

Kyouko, is one of the popular girls in high school, beautiful, funny and the center of attention, but her reality is that when she gets home, she has to take care of her little brother and her home. On the other hand Izumi, is the weird and somewhat dangerous boy in high school, but the reality is that he is one of the kindest people, so much so that by turns of life, ends up helping Kyouko’s brother, unexpectedly uniting their lives, and beginning to discover the people who hide behind the masks.
